Research Interests

I am interested in the ecosystem services associated with both macroalgae and shellfish aquaculture. My work utilizes state-of-the-art autonomous oceanographic instrument packages and applied molecular techniques including: digital PCR (dPCR), quantitative PCR (qPCR), gene sequencing (Oxford Nanopore), metabarcoding, and primer development. In addition to my benchtop skills, I am also highly capable of carrying out advanced field work. I am an AAUS certified scientific diver and am a licensed USCG captain holding a 50 GRT Master license.
