About Chris Byrd

Chris Byrd was cofounder, COO, and president of Evolution1, which was acquired by WEX, Inc. His responsibilities now span both running Government Affairs for WEX across all its businesses as well as continuing to serve in an executive capacity in its benefits division, WEX Health.

Chris, who serves on numerous industry boards, is a frequent speaker on emerging trends in financial services, employee benefits, and government relations. Chris serves on the Board of Directors of Riverfront Recapture and on the Board of Ambassadors of The Bushnell Center for Performing Arts, both in Hartford. His business affiliations include the Boards of The Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (Vice Chair), the American Bankers Association’s HSA Council, and the Employee Benefit Research Institute. He holds a BA from Brown University.

Chris and his wife, Kim, live in West Hartford, CT and Boothbay Harbor.
