About Adam de Sola Pool

Adam de Sola Pool is an experienced venture capitalist, angel investor, entrepreneur, and mentor with more than 30 years of experience in cleantech and ocean technology. He serves as a Member of the Corporation at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, an Advisory Board Member at Bigelow Laboratory, and a partner in several investment groups focused on ocean technology, clean energy, and early-stage innovation.

Throughout his career Adam has founded, led, and invested in numerous renewable energy, environmental, and ocean-focused companies. As founding CEO of Continental Wind Partners, he helped develop what was then Europe’s largest onshore wind project in Romania. His recent investments span aquaculture technologies, autonomous marine vehicles, floating energy systems, coral reef restoration, and sustainable products derived from invasive species.

Adam is an active mentor and judge for organizations including MIT, Northeastern University, CDL-Oceans, Sustainable Ocean Alliance, and BlueInvest. He holds a master’s degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Chicago. Adam lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
