And the winner is...

Crystal Hall's name was drawn as the winner of a full-size image of her choice from Bigelow Laboratory's Tiny Giants: Marine microbes revealed on a grand scale art exhibit. Her name was selected from over 100 donors who gave $250 or more to the Laboratory's Annual Fund between November 1 and December 31, 2015. Ms. Hall chose Tiny Giant #9-- an image of a shrimp-like ostracod-- as her selection. Research Technician Laura Lubelczyk (pictured at right), who captured this photo and many other Tiny Giants, presented Ms. Hall with her print after touring the Laboratory earlier this month.

As a 1998 Keller BLOOM program alumna from Oakland, Maine, Hall had an early and formative introduction to the Laboratory as a high school junior. Now her Annual Fund gift is helping continue this work to educate the next generation of scientists and leaders on the vital role of our global oceans.

"We are extremely grateful to Ms. Hall and to all of the donors who have contributed to this year’s Annual Fund," said Executive Director Graham Shimmield. "Their generosity is making a significant impact on the important research and discoveries taking place at Bigelow Laboratory."

Contributions to Bigelow Laboratory's Annual Fund enable innovation among our scientists; allow us to confront urgent ocean research questions; and help us to provide educational programming to students of all ages.
