Research Interests

My research priorities center on deciphering the function of certain microbes, especially autotrophs. This entails isolation of the organism from the environment to study it in the laboratory. Isolation of the microorganism allows one to infer specific contributions of a specific microbial group in the environment. For this approach, I use molecular techniques in conjunction with genomic and proteomic analysis to infer physiology.
