Bigelow Laboratory cannot function solely on the grants awards that our scientists receive; our Annual Fund plays a key role in the Laboratory’s livelihood. Annual Fund donations are used for research projects requiring an institutional match; to support development of new programs; and for new research initiatives, public relations and outreach, and staff recruitment.

The Laboratory is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research organization incorporated in the state of Maine. All gifts are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged as the donor wishes.
Gifts by credit card may be made by calling (207) 633-9600 until the online contributions feature is in place. For questions about gifts of stock or planned giving, please call the Development Office (207) 633-9618. Gifts of securities are tax-deductible at fair market value. Donors do not pay tax on capital gains from gifts of appreciated stocks.
Gifts to Bigelow Laboratory’s Annual Fund may be designated as unrestricted (where it is needed most), or made to endowment, to educational programs such as Keller BLOOM, or to the annual scholarship award in memory of Maureen Keller, a former principal investigator at Bigelow. Gifts may be designated “anonymous,” “in memory,” or “in honor” of a friend or relative.
