Bigelow Laboratory owns one vessel for near-shore field work: a 26' Glacier Bay with twin 130 hp outboards. The vessel is outfitted with VHF radio, depth finders, and a chart plotter. The boat also has a 10 foot rigid-hull tender. Each vessel has its own trailer. Vessel charter may be arranged.
Scuba diving is an integral part of the research undertaken by some investigators at Bigelow Laboratory. The Lab requires all scientific divers to be certified by the American Academy of Underwater Scientists and to adhere to Bigelow's dive safety policy. Investigators supply their own dive equipment.
