September 19-24, 2010
We thank the participants and the sponsors of our second single cell genomics workshop for making it such a great science experience. With nearly 90 participants, including leading researchers, postdocs and students, it more than doubled in size compared to our first single cell genomics workshop in 2007. Our main goal was to gather the different groups that develop, use, or plan using microbial single cell genomics technology, exchange information, and thereby enable this emerging field to make faster progress. The overwhelmingly positive feedback suggests that this goal has been achieved. With this encouragement and a few lessons learned, we are thinking ahead about the next workshop, likely in the fall of 2013. Please feel free to send us suggestions regarding the content and the format of future workshops.
