Cruises

Work at sea is an essential part of oceanography. Bigelow scientists travel thousands of nautical miles aboard research vessels every year to gather and analyze data, conduct shipboard experiments, and study ocean ecosystem dynamics in the field. Many of our researchers use blogs to describe their expeditions "live" from their ships.
Cruises currently underway include Paty Matrai's Arctic Summer Cloud Ocean Study and the 2008 Bering Sea expedition led by Dr. Joaquim Goes. Individual Senior Research Scientist pages provide links to information about Bigelow Laboratory's current and recent expeditions at sea.
